I'm looking for detailed wiring instructions, or even better, a detailed install video, showing how the horns and relays get wired in. The instructions that came with the horns make zero sense, to me. They seem to imply the relay connects to the battery and the horns, but nothing about connecting them to the horn button. In addition, the wiring coming from the horn button is all wrapped in a harness, and I am having trouble following it, to find any clear indication as to where to connect to it. I installed the horns using y cables provided by Motohorn, but the horns won't sound off at all, with both connected. Their documentation states that if they don't work properly, install the relay, but that's where I am stuck.

Sorry that I do not have any kind of picture. The horn button should be in the relay trigger circuit. One side of the horn button goes to the battery, the other side goes to one of the relay's trigger circuit posts. The other relay trigger circuit post goes to ground. The relay power circuit also has two posts. One of these goes to the battery, the other goes to one of the two connectors on the horn. Finally, the other horn connector goes to ground.

To figure out which wires in a harness go to the horn button, pay attention to the wire colors and consult the wiring diagram that is in the back of the service manual. This manual is available as a free download here on the VTX Cafe.

A schematic. From the (+) battery to a Fuse say at 20 amps with 12 gauge wire # 30
is a contact. #86 will be the Positive Trigger source from the Horn switch which is a
Light Green wire which into a Black wire to the horn. Black 6 pin connector.

Some relays have a device to reduce arcing at the contacts.

When Relay is activated #30 and #87 contacts close, device is connected.
Horn or light should activate.
