Hey. I just bought a 1300C and I love it. However, I've got a tight fit with my toe between the peg and shifter. It looks like I can adjust it but I don't know what to adjust. Anyone wanna help? Thanks in advance.

Remove the left side cover in front of the swing arm plate. This is a plastic cover held on with 5 cap screws. You will see a shaft that is jamb nutted to the ball ends on each side. Loosen the jamb nuts from the ball ends using a wrench to hold the ballends while loosening he nuts. Now, turn the shaft one way or the other to raise or lower the shift lever. Once posistioned the way you want it screw the nuts snug to the ballends. HOld the bollends with your wrench in a nonbinding posistion and tighten the nut. Repeat on the tightening the same way on the other end. Make sure whne tightened that the shaft moves freely and the ballends are not in a bind. Test ride before you reinstall teh cover so any more adjustments can be done without removing it again. Also, there are some mall inserts in the side cover to keep the screws from cracking the plastic cover, don't lose any of those or you will have to leave teh screw out until it is replaced or you will crack teh cover.

Look closely....on the C...I don't think you have to remove anything...I don't remember removing anything when we adjusted mine for the floorboards...Hold on I'll go look again...BB

OK>..my bad...unless he had a special tool..you do have to take the cover off...mine was up on a lift though..don't know if you can reach it from underneath...sorry...BB

thanks!

Thanks for all the great info. I think it will come in handy. One more thing, someone told me that the gear shifter can be adjusted by manipulating the rod located under the engine and is attached to the gear shifter. Anyone know about this? Thanks.

I have not had mine off but most bike have a splined shaft here. Some you can remove the lever and walk it around the spline. It is not the best way since doing this will change the leverage needed for smooth shifting. Some shift levers can also be moved on the shaft if it is also splined but doing this will still require the linkage to be readjusted.

2 teeth? How much deflection did you get out of it? Sometimes I ride in tennis shoes and don't want to grind/mis-shift or have to lift my heel/overextend up-ankle to get a positive shift.
